Winston Churchill once described Uganda as the “pearl of Africa,” referring to its remarkable beauty.
Today I got up very early to catch the first taxi out of Kiwangala. It was still dark when I left, so as we were driving along the winding dirt road I watched the sun rise above the mountains overlooking valleys of banana plantations. It was incredible, and also one of the moments when I love being in this country.
